ONE BIG PROBLEM

Hello, anybody and everybody. I have created this blog for the sole purpose of finding out whether anybody else has experienced the particular problem with United Airlines' Mileage Plus program that I have experienced, to wit:

THEY DO NOT RECORD ON YOUR MILEAGE PLUS ACCOUNT ALL THE MILES YOU HAVE EARNED BY FLYING WITH THEM AND ASSOCIATED AIRLINES.

You go to the online Mileage Plus page, and you go to your account, and you discover that some significant chunks of air travel you have taken that should be recorded in your Mileage Plus account ARE NOT THERE. You and your travel agent have done everything right. But all the miles you earned (or rightfully should have earned) on Mileage Plus are not recorded.

The Mileage Plus website has a place you can click to recover earned but unrecorded miles. You go there and you learn that you must send your original ticket and your boarding pass stub by snail mail to a certain address in order to get the miles recorded.

If you happen to have saved your boarding pass stub, you send it in by snail mail to the address given by United Airlines, and then you wait for a response. MONTHS AFTER YOU HAVE MAILED YOUR BOARDING PASS STUB AND TICKET STUB TO THE GIVEN ADDRESS, THE PEOPLE AT MILEAGE PLUS SAY THEY HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED IT.

This happened both to me and to my travel agent, a respected professional. When I learned from her that she was having the exact same problems as me, I realized that I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.

Maybe United Airlines is systematically and intentionally depriving Mileage Plus customers of the mileage promised in the Mileage Plus program, for which miles the customers regularly fly on United and its partners. From the difficulties I and my travel agent are experiencing with the Mileage Plus program, it sure looks like it.

If you have experienced the EXACT SAME PROBLEM, please post to this blog. I want to know how many people are being ripped off as I and my travel agent have been.

Thanks for your time.

Peggy
